THz-Technology connects

Our goal: a non-profit organization to promote science and research in the field of terahertz technology through informing the public and connecting researchers in Germany from companies, universities, universities of applied sciences, and non-university research institutions.

Application Example: Communication

6G wireless technology is going to address first bands in the Terahertz domain in order to keep pace with modern data hunger. Unused frequency bands and huge bandwidths offer unprecedented wireless data rates. Future standards will use Terahertz technology.

Terahertz Laser

Designing lasers in the Terahertz domain is quite a bit more difficult than in the visible. The reason is the small Terahertz photon energy (about 1000 times smaller than that of a visible photon). Terahertz lasers usually require cryogenic operation. The most prominent and by far most frequent Terahertz laser concept is the quantum cascade laser.
